Amalgamation is a legal process in which one or more companies merge into another company, or two or more companies combine to form a new entity. In India, such mergers are carried out under the Companies Act and are approved by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) after following due process and creditor/shareholder consent. Once an amalgamation is effective, the transferor company’s business, assets and liabilities are taken over by the transferee or new company, and the transferor company is usually struck off from the register of active companies. The companies listed below reflect entities whose status has been recorded as amalgamated in MCA corporate records, and are shown here for historical reference, KYC and due-diligence purposes.
